Leaving Tignes, the road follows the upper Tarentaise through rugged, exposed terrain past reservoirs and mountain slopes before descending towards Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From there, the N90 continues west through Moûtiers and Albertville before joining the motorway towards Chambéry. Drop-off is at your Chambéry address.

On Saturday mornings, the N90 between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Moûtiers carries heavy outbound traffic from the upper Tarentaise resorts. The upper road from Tignes can also slow during snowfall.

Tignes runs across different altitudes, and the name alone isn't enough to find you. Le Lac and Val Claret are the two main hubs — most hotels and apartments are split between these two.
