Leaving Peisey-Vallandry, the road descends through smaller mountain villages towards Landry before joining the N90 in the Tarentaise Valley. The transfer then heads west through Moûtiers and Albertville before continuing alongside Lake Annecy and north on the motorway towards Geneva. Depending on traffic, the driver may choose between the two sides of the lake near Annecy.

On Saturday mornings, the N90 between Bourg-Saint-Maurice and Moûtiers carries heavy outbound traffic from the upper Tarentaise resorts. The Lake Annecy and Geneva approach sections can also slow during peak winter weekends.

Peisey-Vallandry is made up of several villages at different altitudes — confirm exactly which one you're staying in when you book. The two main ski villages are Plan-Peisey and Vallandry, both at around 1600 m and less than a kilometre apart. Below them sit the older villages of Peisey and Nancroix, and further down the valley, Landry. Each has its own access road, so be specific when you book.

In peak ski season, we often recommend departing 2–3 hours earlier than you might expect. Mountain traffic on busy Saturdays can add significant time to the journey. You may end up waiting longer at the airport — but that's a much better outcome than missing your flight. You can set your own preferred departure time, but we'll always flag if we think it carries a risk.
