The drive then follows the N90 through the Tarentaise Valley towards Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
Beyond Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the road climbs steadily towards La Rosière near the Italian border. The final ascent is more open and panoramic than many Tarentaise routes, with views across the upper valley and surrounding peaks.
