Leaving Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport, the transfer heads east along the A43 motorway towards Chambéry before continuing through Albertville and the Tarentaise Valley. The route combines long motorway stretches with increasingly mountainous scenery approaching Moûtiers and the Belleville Valley. During peak winter weekends, alternative routing via Grenoble may occasionally be used depending on traffic conditions. Beyond Les Menuires, the road continues climbing towards Val Thorens, one of the highest ski resorts in Europe. The upper section becomes more exposed and alpine, with fewer trees and wider mountain views near the resort.
