During exceptionally busy ski weekends, transfers may occasionally avoid Chambéry traffic by rerouting through Grenoble. The ascent towards Les Menuires passes Saint-Martin-de-Belleville before reaching the higher-altitude ski areas of the Belleville Valley. The landscape becomes increasingly open and snowy near the resort, particularly during mid-winter.
