The transfer from Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport follows the A43 motorway towards Chambéry before continuing deeper into the Savoie valleys. Most of the route is on fast toll roads, with mountain scenery gradually becoming more pronounced after Chambéry and Albertville. The drive then follows the N90 through the Tarentaise Valley towards Bourg-Saint-Maurice. On heavy traffic days, an alternative route via Grenoble may occasionally offer a smoother approach into the Alps. Beyond Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the road climbs steadily towards La Rosière near the Italian border. The final ascent is more open and panoramic than many Tarentaise routes, with views across the upper valley and surrounding peaks as the road approaches the resort.
При нормальных условиях дорога занимает около 3 ч; точное время зависит от трафика и погоды. В зимние выходные и в высокий горнолыжный сезон поездка может занять больше времени. Winter congestion often affects the N90 near Bourg-Saint-Maurice, especially during Saturday changeovers. Snowfall can also slow the upper road to La Rosière.
Keep your phone handy — that's the one thing that makes pickup at Lyon Airport smooth. Parking restrictions at LYS mean your driver coordinates pickup remotely. As soon as we see your flight has landed, we'll message you directly — just let us know when you've collected your bags and are ready to step outside, and your driver will be at the Arrivals exit to meet you. We monitor your flight in real time. The first 90 minutes after scheduled landing are included at no extra charge — plenty of time for baggage claim and customs. LYS has two connected terminals — T1 for most European and low-cost flights, T2 for international. Both share one building, so Arrivals is easy to navigate. One thing worth knowing: easyJet and some other low-cost carriers use Gate D, which sits in a satellite building linked to T1 by a tunnel — the walk out to Arrivals is slightly longer than it looks on paper. Nothing dramatic, but good to know if you're travelling light and moving fast.
La Rosière sits at 1850 m above the Tarentaise valley, reached by road from Bourg-Saint-Maurice. One main village, straightforward access. The Col du Petit Saint-Bernard above the resort connects to La Thuile in Italy in summer but is closed in winter.
