The route continues through Ugine and Albertville before joining the N90 towards the Tarentaise valleys.
After Moûtiers, the road climbs through the Belleville Valley past Saint-Martin-de-Belleville and Les Menuires before reaching the high-altitude terrain surrounding Val Thorens. The landscape changes noticeably on the final section, with fewer trees and broader mountain views near the resort.
At 2300 m, Val Thorens is the highest point in the Three Valleys — and one of the most reliably snow-sure resorts in the Alps. The skiing connects directly to Méribel and Courchevel, which is why it fills up fast on Saturdays and empties just as quickly. The resort itself is compact and easy to navigate — no villages, no altitude splits, no wrong turns. One road in, one-way through the centre, and we drop you at your door. What can slow things down is the combination of fresh snow and peak-week traffic: pedestrians on the street, visibility reduced, a full season's worth of guests all changing over at once. It's not complicated, just dense. If your accommodation has a specific check-in window, it's worth building in some buffer on Saturdays.
