Your driver meets you in the Arrivals hall of your terminal with your name displayed on their phone. One important detail: Malpensa has two separate terminals, and they are not in the same building. T1 handles the majority of flights — most international carriers and major European airlines. T2 is used primarily by EasyJet. A free shuttle bus runs between them, but it takes 10–15 minutes — so knowing your terminal before you land saves time and confusion. Check your boarding pass: it will show T1 or T2. Val d'Isère sits at the end of the Tarentaise valley at 1850 m. In winter the road stops here — the Col de l'Iseran closes with the first heavy snowfall and doesn't reopen until summer. During ski season there's nowhere further to go, which shapes the whole character of the place: everyone arriving is here to ski, not passing through. The resort has two distinct entry points. La Daille sits at the valley entrance — lower, quieter, with its own gondola up to the main ski area. The main village is further along: the centre, the shops, the après, the bulk of the hotels and chalets spread across the hillside. No access restrictions and no one-way complications. After heavy snowfall the roads slow down, and a handful of chalets sit on steep or narrow tracks that need a careful approach.
