The transfer from Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport follows the A43 motorway east towards Chambéry before continuing through Albertville into the Tarentaise Valley. The scenery gradually changes from wider Rhône-Alpes plains to narrower alpine valleys as the journey progresses towards Moûtiers. On major winter weekends, some drivers may occasionally reroute through Grenoble depending on motorway traffic conditions. Beyond Moûtiers, the road begins the steady ascent towards Courchevel and its different villages spread across the mountainside. The climb passes through forested sections and traditional Savoy hamlets before reaching the higher ski areas connected to the Three Valleys domain.
