The transfer from Lyon train station to Sainte Foy is a comfortable and straightforward journey into the Alps. Your driver will take the most efficient route to the resort, ensuring a smooth and stress-free trip.
After departure from Lyon Part-Dieu or Perrache, the transfer follows the A43 motorway towards Chambéry before continuing into the Savoie valleys. The road passes between several mountain massifs and open valley sections before reaching Albertville and the Tarentaise corridor. Most of the journey remains on fast dual carriageways until Bourg-Saint-Maurice.
After Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the road branches off into the quieter upper Tarentaise towards Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise. The final section passes smaller villages, wooded slopes, and narrower alpine roads, with a noticeably calmer atmosphere compared with the larger neighbouring resorts.
Under normal conditions, the journey takes around 2 h 35 min, depending on traffic and weather. During winter weekends and peak ski season, travel times may increase. Winter traffic mainly affects the N90 approaching Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The upper road to Sainte-Foy is usually less congested, although snowfall can occasionally slow the final ascent.
