The journey from Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport follows the A43 motorway towards Chambéry before continuing via Albertville into the Tarentaise Valley. After Moûtiers, the route turns south into the Belleville Valley, where the road gradually climbs through alpine villages and narrower mountain sections. During exceptionally busy ski weekends, transfers may occasionally avoid Chambéry traffic by rerouting through Grenoble. The ascent towards Les Menuires passes Saint-Martin-de-Belleville before reaching the higher-altitude ski areas of the Belleville Valley. The landscape becomes increasingly open and snowy near the resort, particularly during mid-winter.
