What can slow things down is the combination of fresh snow and peak-week traffic: pedestrians on the street, visibility reduced, a full season's worth of guests all changing over at once. It's not complicated, just dense. If your accommodation has a specific check-in window, it's worth building in some buffer on Saturdays.
