Valmorel was built in the 1970s, which in French ski resort terms usually means tower blocks and stark concrete. Not here. Part of the Grand Domaine ski area with Saint-François-Longchamp — 165 km of slopes crossing the Col de la Madeleine, from forests at the bottom to open alpine terrain at the top.
