After passing the industrial valley around Ugine and the Olympic town of Albertville, the journey joins the N90, the main access road into the Tarentaise region. Near Landry, the route turns towards Peisey-Vallandry and climbs through smaller mountain villages surrounded by forest. Compared with some higher resorts, the approach feels quieter and more traditional, with chalet-style hamlets connected directly to the Paradiski ski area.
Under normal conditions, the journey takes around 2 h 45 min, depending on traffic and weather. During winter weekends and peak ski season, travel times may increase. Winter traffic is usually concentrated along the N90 near Bourg-Saint-Maurice and around the Landry junction during Saturday transfer periods.
