The route from Geneva Airport crosses into France shortly after leaving the airport area before continuing on the A40 motorway towards Cluses. The journey follows the Arve Valley through Bonneville and Taninges, with mountain scenery becoming progressively more pronounced deeper into Haute-Savoie. From Taninges, the road climbs into the Portes du Soleil region towards Morzine. The final section passes forested slopes, riverside stretches, and traditional Alpine villages before reaching the resort centre.
